This project will equip you to identify and understand the key features involved in designing lessons in a teaching for mastery context, see them in practice with the use of textbooks and create materials to use in your class/school.

Over the two terms, participants will have an opportunity to observe guided lessons, co-create materials and then develop practice back in school.

Audience:

This project is aimed at schools who are implementing a teaching for mastery approach to their mathematics lessons. Schools are expected to enrol two teachers each (and teachers must attend all sessions).

Day 1:   15th January 2019

Day 2:   11th March 2019

Day 3:    1st April 2019

All sessions run from 09.00 – 15.30

In between the sessions, participants are expected to develop their own practice around lesson design, work closely with their in-school co-participant and keep a reflective journal. The project lead will visit some of the project schools to support and evaluate practice.
