London South West Maths Hub

Welcome to the London South West Maths Hub, led by two Outstanding Schools Belleville Primary and Chesterton Primary and working in partnership with Wandsworth Local Authority.

The geographical area that we cover comprises the boroughs of Merton, Kingston, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth. We also have strong links with other surrounding areas, and will engage schools in other areas where appropriate. 

We are a part of a national network of Maths Hubs that work together in the national Maths Hub programme. More information on the Maths Hub programme can be found  here

Planning ahead for September ?
This is a good time to take another look at our assessment support documents, available for Primary and Secondary.

In 2018-19, all Maths Hubs will be running primary mathematics Teaching for Mastery Work Groups led by Mastery Specialists. Places are still available for state-funded schools in England to become part of this programme from September 2018. Two teachers from each participant school attend six, half-day meetings during the school year, and lead teaching for mastery development in their own school. 

It is FREE to participate and chosen schools will receive £1,000 for participation and £2,000 further textbook funding is also available (match funded).

Maths Hubs projects 2018-19:

The full range of Maths Hubs projects starting in September has now been announced, These are professional development projects addressing maths teaching across the age range, from Early Years through to A level. Project-by project details are on the Maths Hubs programme website and a taste of what’s on offer is available on separate flyers covering Early Years/Primary and Secondary/Post 16 phases. Secondary Teaching for Mastery Work Groups 2018-2019

The NCETM and Maths Hubs are recruiting secondary schools to join a fully-funded professional development programme, led by established Secondary Mastery Specialists, from September 2018.
The programme will enable school mathematics departments to introduce and embed a teaching for mastery approach.
