Assistant Maths Hub Lead - Reception post
 
London South West Maths Hub is seeking to recruit an experienced and highly effective Early Years school practitioner to join our team of Assistant Maths Hub Leads. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside schools across our region, supporting high-quality early mathematics provision and helping to improve outcomes for children, particularly those who need it most.
 
The Role
The Assistant Maths Hub Lead (Reception) will work alongside the Maths Hub Lead and other Assistant Hub Leads to oversee LLME work, with particular responsibility for:
  • Facilitating support for Mastering Number implementation – including offering opportunities to observe live sessions
  • Facilitating an online community to support LLMEs involved in Reception work
  • Overseeing Intensive support in Reception
  • Developing further LLME capacity in Early Years
  • Developing relationships with partners
  • Reporting to the Maths Hub Lead and Senior Leadership Link
 
Candidate suitability
We are seeking to recruit a skilled and committed teacher, with recent experience in Reception, who has played a leading role in improving early mathematical outcomes in his/her own school. LLME are seconded from their home school, with the full support of their headteacher, to work alongside schools supported by the London South West Maths Hub.

Local Leader of Mathematics (Reception) Expression of Interest
 
London South West Maths Hub is seeking to recruit an experienced and highly effective Early Years school practitioner to join our community of Local Leaders of Mathematics (LLME). This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside schools across our region, supporting high-quality early mathematics provision and helping to improve outcomes for children, particularly those who need it most.
 
The Role
We are seeking to recruit skilled and committed teachers, with recent experience in Reception, to lead one of our new Reception professional development programmes. LLME are seconded from their home school, with the full support of their headteacher, to work alongside schools supported by the London South West Maths Hub.
 
Express an interest
Please read this Information Sheet which provides more detail on the role and what it involves. Interested teachers, in conjunction with their headteacher, should  complete and submit this Expression of Interest form, and London South West Maths Hub will be in contact to arrange a follow up discussion.
 
Timeline
Ideally, Local Leaders of Maths Education Leads are recruited before the summer half term, ready to be allocated 2026-27 Maths Hub activity in June 2026. All activity is planned to suit school and hub availability, need and capacity.
