Specialist Knowledge for Teaching Mathematics (SKTM)
Secondary TA's and non-specialist teachers
This programme has been designed to support secondary teaching assistants and non- specialist teachers in developing their mathematical subject knowledge and pedagogy so that they understand how children grasp and retain mathematical concepts. Giving participants a secure understanding of how children learn, will enhance levels of confidence and allow them to better support and teach pupils in the classroom.
What is involved?
The programme is based on the four core modules:
• Number sense
• Additive reasoning
• Multiplicative reasoning
• Fractions.

All sessions have been designed to take place online.
Times: 1.15pm – 3.15pm
