Preparing for Year 2 with the MEI Maths and Further Maths A levels

The London SW Maths Hub are pleased to promote a seminar taking place at Burntwood School, a secondary school within our region.  Please see details below: 

This seminar looks at our experiences from the teaching of the first year and considers some of the issues to be faced in Year 2. For example:

• What are the new and tricky topics eg proof of irrationality of root(2), the infinity of primes, and large data sets?
• Coping with and adapting to a linear spec, e.g. how do you keep all the Year 12 material under review during Year 13?
• Preparing for the comprehension section in Maths paper 3
• Past papers and other revision material

Presenter: Keith Proffitt is a Curriculum Developer at MEI and was closely involved in developing the new MEI A levels. He is responsible for supporting schools and colleges who use the new MEI Maths and Further Maths A Levels.
