Transition between Secondary and level 3 education
With the government changes to level 3 courses, in particular, A-Levels, it is essential that schools ensure their students are prepared for the higher demands of work that will required for them to be successful in the course. The work group will collaborate to identify and develop effective methods to ease transition for students onto level 3 maths courses.
Participants will work collaboratively through joint practice research to develop knowledge and understanding of effective support strategies for transition between secondary & level 3 education. Participants will share findings with each other at a conference day.
This project will:
Use evidence based research to identify and develop effective strategies to support the transition between GCSE and AS/A levels.
Support teachers across the participant schools in the effective implementation of strategies to ease transition between GCSE and AS/A level.
Disseminate and mobilise the implementation of effective transition strategies with schools across the Kingston School Teaching Alliance and beyond.
